Trees recycle CO2
We have achieved Carbon Neutral status at our Head Office and for our new Unity CV100 fan range. We take this very seriously which is why we have been working with Carbon Clear, a reputable company who specialise in carbon emission management and offsetting projects around the world.
What does offsetting actually mean?
It simply means the amount of carbon dioxide that is put into the atmosphere from our activities is taken out somewhere else. This makes a service or product carbon neutral and a carbon smart choice for the consumer! Trees Recycle CO2 – The role of sustainable tree planting in carbon offsetting
We could go as far to say that trees are ‘green machines’ and that’s why we are involved in tree planting projects.
Basically through photosynthesis (probably been a while since you heard that word), trees absorb Carbon Dioxide into their roots, trunk, branches and soil whilst releasing oxygen back out.
Trees are planted all across the world to help reduce Carbon emissions and we have chosen Uganda and Kenya through our work with Carbon Clear. Not only through photosynthesis (there’s that word again) do they absorb the Carbon Dioxide, but they also help local communities by providing ongoing income linked to tree planting, survival and growth. Forests are also a source of food, medicine and clean drinking water for millions of people around the world.

Greenwood plants trees, trees and more trees… |
We have already committed to planting a serious number of trees to make our Head Office and Unity Fan range Carbon Neutral in Uganda and Kenya through our work with Carbon Clear. As a special present to all of our staff, we have also planted 9 trees on each of their behalf, to offset 1 tonne of carbon from each of their own lifestyles. This is ongoing committment for our company.
