Save Energy the Greenwood way
 Since we are being jolly nice to the environment by taking responsibility for our own actions and those of our products, we thought it would be nice to leave you with some interesting facts and, of course, tips for your own homes.
We are all about simplicity so they are very easy to implement – basically we are not advising that you rush out and put a windmill on top of your house – well not just yet anyway!!!
- £60,000,000 and 250,000 tonnes of CO2 are wasted every year by mobile phone chargers being left plugged in and switched on, so unplug them!!
- £11,000,000,000 will be the cost to UK households by 2010, by leaving appliances on stand-by, so switch them off properly!!
- £40.00 per year could be saved through turning down your
thermostat by 1˚C
- 40% less energy is used by washing your clothes at 30˚C than 40˚C
- 32% savings could be made on your fuel bills by upgrading any boilers older that 15 years to new eco-savvy condensing versions
- £670,000,000 a year could be saved if every household in the UK installed cavity wall insulation
- £65.00 could be saved over a bulb’s lifetime by replacing standard with energy saving ones
